What to Do When You Have a Flat Tire

There is no good time to have a flat tire. We want you to know what to do when you face this inconvenience.

First, if your tire deflates while you are driving, always park safely. Turn on your hazard lights, and drive carefully until you reach a breakdown lane or a parking lot. Also, turn off your car, apply the parking brake and place a large rock behind one wheel on the opposite side of the car from the flat tire.

Next, gather you spare tire, tools and jack. Use the ground's leverage to slightly loosen the wheel's lug nuts. Raise the car with the jack, fully loosen and remove the nuts and switch tires. Replace the nuts, tighten them by hand, lower the car and fully tighten the nuts.

Once you return to the road, see us in our service center at Wagner Kia of Shrewsbury in Shrewsbury, MA. We will gladly double check your spare and fix your flat tire.
