Ok, we admit it. The Kia Rio hasn't always been the most popular model here at Wagner Kia of Shrewsbury, but we expect that to change soon. The 2012 Kia Rio has garnered quite a bit of attention from auto enthusiasts and experts alike. For example, Consumer Guide points out the new Kia has "[g]ood power for the class, a comfortable ride, fine practicality, and handsome looks inside and out . . . [a]well-rounded package. Competitive EPA fuel economy estimates are a strong point as well. Small-car shoppers should be sure to add the 2012 Kia Rio to their list."1
The new Rio boasts several unexpected features and comes in sedan and five-door hatchback styles. Trims available are the base LX, the midlevel EX, and the top SX. Safety features include hill Start Assist Control, Electronic Stability and Vehicle Stability Control systems, and four-wheel ABS brakes. Six airbags and antilock breaks come standard on all models, as well as an outstanding warranty package. Drivers won't be disappointed in its impressive attributes, which are numerous for an entry-level vehicle, including: a sport-tuned suspension, small front corner windows, LED accents, retractable electric side mirrors, attractive sports wheels, twin chrome exhausts, and a rear window defogger and wiper. The MSRP comes in at under 20k for the top trim. The 5-door hatchback is a bit more expensive than the sedan, but it also gets better gas mileage. The 5-door version gets 30mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway, while the sedan gets 27 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.
