The standard powertrain in the latest Kia Sorento consists of a 2.5-liter inline-four engine that can provide you with up to 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. Drivers can also upgrade to a turbocharged 2.5-liter option for more power, as this powertrain can produce up to 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard for the new Sorento, but we recommend looking out for a model with Kia's torque-vectoring all-wheel drive for Boston driving.
The interior of the Sorento is incredibly spacious, but of course, it needs to be as a three-row SUV. You'll have room for up to seven people in the cabin. Behind the third row, Worcester drivers will enjoy a cargo space with 12.6 cubic feet of space. When you need some more space, though, the third and second rows can both fold flat to give you up to 45.0 cubic feet of cargo space with the third-row seats folded down and 75.5 cubic feet with both rows lowered.
The new Sorento is a sight to behold with its clever use of chrome accents, black grille and sharp, sleek lines. Of course, the beautiful design also provides the driver with plenty of functional features like heated power side mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators and LED headlights standard from the base trim level. Higher trim levels also expand the LED lighting to include LED Daytime Running Lights, LED fog lights and LED tail lights, and you can even get automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers!
With options like an automatic dual-zone climate control system, SynTex upholstery, Kia's Smart Key system and a wireless phone charger on most trim levels, it's easy to get situated in the driver's seat of a new Sorento. Plus, you can use the available 10-way power-adjust functions to set up your driver's seat just the way you like it, and you'd be right to assume that heated and ventilated front seats are available premium upgrades, but you can also add heating functions to the outboard second-row seats.
The intuitive infotainment system of the Kia Sorento is displayed on a standard 8-inch touchscreen display, or you can pick up a 10.25-inch version on the higher trim levels. Either way, though, you'll have easy access to Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, allowing you to quickly and seamlessly integrate your smartphone into your daily driving.
On the base trim, you'll enjoy your music and podcasts through six excellent speakers. However, we highly recommend upgrading to the 12-speaker Bose® premium audio system, as the listening experience it provides is truly something else entirely.
