Kia Motors America has hit a hole-in-one by partnering with the Ladies Pro Golf Association(LPGA). Kia recently announced its union with the organization, which has named the South Korea-based company its "Official Automotive Partner of the LPGA" and "Official Tournament Vehicle" of eight LPGA tournaments, including the recent mid-November 2011 inaugural CME Group Titleholders Tournament. Kia also will become the title sponsor of the Kia Performance Awards, which will be presented at the 2012 CME Group Titleholders and showcased during the course of the season on LPGA telecasts and LPGA.com. Finally, there will be a Kia "hole-in-one" vehicle on special Par 3 rounds for tournaments Kia is sponsoring.
LPGA Chief Marketing Officer Jon Podany explains why the partnership between Kia and the LPGA works so well, stating, "This is the ideal kind of partnership for us with Kia integrated into so many areas of our business: Golf Channel telecasts, tournaments, LPGA.com, and recognizing players with the Kia Performance Awards. Kia is clearly a brand on the rise which mirrors where we are headed at the LPGA."1 Podany also gave listeners a refresher on the beginnings of the partnership, adding that Kia was a terrific partner in the LPGA's Kia Classic in Southern California, and that the LPGA was very excited to broaden this relationship with the Official Automotive Partner label.
Both Kia Motors and the LPGA are experiencing exponential growth, and now they will feed off of and grow with one another. With exciting new young players in the LPGA line-up this year and a fantastic line-up of new 2012 Kia models, this partnership is sure to be a fruitful one.
