If you've been tuning into the Wagner Kia of Shrewsbury blog lately, you've likely read about the new flagship luxury sedan with which Kia is planning to launch and test  the waters of the premium segment. If this is your first time reading about Kia vying for a piece of the luxury auto market pie, you might be a bit dubious. But, judging by the car's sophisticated design, comfort and technology, the BMWs and Mercedes of the world should be watching their backs.

When Wagner Kia of Shrewsbury first started bringing you news regarding the luxury flagship's features, safety, power, design and availability, it was known as the Kia K9 overseas. And, reports indicated that it would carry the Cadenza badge here in the U.S. More recently, Kia announced the sedan's official name: Quoris. It will be the nameplate of the luxe sedan in all markets worldwide, except Korea.

What prompted the change?

Quite simply, Kia wanted something that better reflects the new luxury sedan's opulent "core" and inherent "quality".

The 333-hp and range-topping 429-hp Kia Quoris, formerly known as the Kia K9, is slated to officially debut later in 2012. Watch for additional details surrounding price and features, coming soon. And be sure to check out the entire new Kia and used car lineups in the meantime.
