1994 marked the year that the first Kia model was in the US. If we speed up to present day and it is easy to see how Kia has grown by providing drivers in the Shrewsbury area with fun, reliable cars. Last month Kia has even more reason to celebrate and that is from Kia hitting a milestone by selling 4 million vehicles in the United States.
In May Kia set another record for vehicle sales by
selling 51,771 units. That is an increase of 7.4% over May 2011. There are many
factors to thank for such an achievement.
The biggest reason Kia has seen their sales grow for 21-straight months is its lineup of fuel-efficient sedans and CUVs, as 78 percent of models sold averaged 30 miles per gallon on the highway. The automaker can point to the success of a model like the 2012 Kia Rio, which has a 40 mile per gallon rating on the highway as a key performer, while the demand for both the Kia Optima and Kia Sorento has increased as well. What's even better about the latter two vehicles is that they are built right here in the U.S. at the Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia facility.
While a big reason for their success can be attributed to fuel efficiency, but also their amazing technology has really pushed them to where they are today. The Microsoft infotainment system is one to blame. Giving drivers a plethora of options and controls without having to push a button or turn a knob, it's no wonder why more and more people are looking to Kia for their next vehicle.
