After its predecessor was officially named to be the best selling model in the new Kia lineup last year, it's safe to say that there's already quite a bit of momentum built up for the newly-released 2013 Kia Sorento. That, however, does not mean that Kia is ready to sit back and take a break from innovating one of the best mid-size crossover models on the road today. Far, far from it, in fact.
Proof of this notion? A few months back, a prototype of the next-generation 2014 Kia Sorento was spotted being tested in the snow. And while it was certainly impressive to see it handling the harsh cold weather, a new set of spy shots are even more telling of the vehicle's rigorous development. Specifically, it was scene doing laps at the Nürburgring in Germany.
Perhaps the most difficult race track in the world to master, the Nürburgring is known for pushing vehicles and the drivers behind the wheel to their limits. And for Kia, this means a Sorento with a more refined suspension and interior to keep drivers comfortable, even under the most demanding conditions.
Another obvious focal point on both sets of spy shots that have been snapped of the all-new Sorento is the front fascia. It's covered in heavily-distorting camouflage, which suggests it's being heavily reworked. Many are even speculating that Kia may be adding LED headlamps into the equation too.
