Odds are that you know someone who's been affected by breast cancer. It's one of the most destructive forms of cancer, and more research is still needed to find a cure. That's why auto brand Kia is partnering with HerHighway, an online site empowering women with automobile knowledge, to donate new Kia vehicles to participate in a 10 city, nationwide drive event, "Drive Breast Cancer Awareness," which will increase knowledge about the disease. The vehicles will be driven by influential women from many different backgrounds.
Michael Sprague, Executive Vice President, Marketing & Communications, KMA, explains, "Kia is deeply committed to supporting HerHighway and the 'Drive Breast Cancer Awareness' event which delivers much-needed awareness towards a disease that affects approximately one in eight women in the United States. . . Kia vehicles such as the Sportage, Optima and Soul are perfect vehicles for a cross-country road trip, and it is our privilege to provide these vehicles that will help HerHighway get the word out about breast cancer."1
The "Drive Breast Cancer Awareness" campaign was established in 2011 when the founder, Christina Selter, was diagnosed with a rare form of liquid breast cancer.
