Leave it to our favorite automaker to help us put our rivalry aside. Moving past our innate and playful competitive nature, fueled by sports, Kia has drivers in the Boston area looking enthusiastically to the Big Apple.

That's because the greatly anticipated 2014 Soul was recently unveiled at the New York International Auto Show. Drum roll please; at Wagner Kia of Shrewsbury, we're thrilled to relay that the refreshed model is packed with personality. Of course, we wouldn't expect anything less from the auto trendsetter.

Starting off the enhancements are the expanded underpinnings. The framework is now stiffer, but also broader and longer creating more interior space. To match that increased room the new Kia Soul includes a wider hatch opening in the rear to make the process of loading and unloading the added cargo easier.

Not only has the cabin of the new Kia grown, but the atmosphere inside has also matured. Spied on the center console, instrument panel and door panels an increasingly sophisticate demeanor is applied via soft-touch materials. To boast that cause supported leather seats are also available with an upgraded trim option.

As for power the remodeled Kia Soul earns its gusto through a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 130hp in the base model. Looking to accelerate the power? No problem; the Plus and Exclaim trims hold a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine capable of harnessing 164 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque.

With that said, we're looking forward to the 2014 Soul reaching our showroom, but that doesn't overshadow the vigorous Kia models currently available! To arrange a test drive of a new or used car we recommend a visit to 730 Boston Turnpike in Shrewsbury, MA; our experts are happy to discuss the specs of your favorite auto in detail!
