The survey asks 32,000 people to compile a list of the top 55 brands spread across the five categories, and then the Brand Advocacy Index (BAI) number is created to measure the word-of-mouth recommendations.
Kia topped the automotive segment with 63 percent of the responders advocating the South Korean automaker.
To be named on this list is very promising, and as Pedro Esquivias, a BCG partner and coauthor of the report, stated: “Consumers are positively endorsing the most recommended brands to their friends, family, and coworkers – often spontaneously and even when they are not even customers of the brand. As a result, these brands see strong financial gains that demonstrate the power of advocacy to drive top-line growth.”1
