It's no secret that Boston is a competitive sports town. We have a lot of athletic pride from the Green Monster to Gillette Stadium; and it's exciting to see our favorite auto brand Kia joining the action. In fact, as basketball fans likely know, the Korean automaker is the Official Automotive Partner of the NBA.
That's a big title that comes with some fun responsibilities. For example, the Korean brand orchestrates "The Kia NBA Performance Awards" annually which recognizes players with performance driven awards. Five accolades are given, including the "Most Valuable Player Award". Not surprisingly, this honor went to an extremely talented athlete, LeBron James.
We know, he doesn't play for the Celtics; but he's certainly worthy of the recognition. This season alone James scored a whopping 2,036 points; that adds to his impressive status as the youngest player to hit 20,000 points. At Wagner Kia of Shrewsbury we can appreciate that; it's just unfortunate that he doesn't play for Beantown.
Of course, the automaker's sponsorship isn't solely about rewarding athletic all-stars; it's also a great opportunity to highlight stellar models in the brand's lineup. As such, the Korean company is displaying the Kia Optima as the league's Official Vehicle. That's fitting; the sleek style and agile capabilities of the sedan is a great representation of the NBA.
With that said, we'd like to invite you to our new Kia showroom serving greater Shrewsbury, MA for a test drive of the Optima, or another model that's caught your eye. Conveniently located at 730 Boston Turnpike, we're happy to review the specs and answer any questions!
