If you think Kia's involvement with sports only extends to having NBA player Blake Griffin appear in their Kia Optima ads then think again!

When the company isn't developing new Kia models they're also working on their award partnership with the NBA that has been going on for seven years. Kia gives out 5 awards a year and these are some of the most prestigious nods players can earn. The awards are: MVP, Defensive Play of the Year, Sixth Man Award, Most Improved Player, and Rookie of the Year.

Kia just announced that Goran Dragic, a player for the Phoenix Sun's, will be receiving the 'Most Improved Player' accolade. Sportswriters and broadcasters throughout America and Canada cast their votes and Goran received 65 votes for 1st place, well above the 13 votes Lance Stephenson received.

Not only does Kia sponsor these awards, but they will also be donating new models for a good cause. On Dragic's behalf they'll be donating the all-new 2015 Kia Sorento LX to the Southwest region of the City of Hope program. City of Hope helps battle cancer, HIV/AIDS, diabetes, and many other life-threatening issues. The winners of the five other awards will also have a Sorento donated to a charity of their choosing.

We love that Kia has been donating models to well-deserving charities and since they started the giving in 2008 thirty-one vehicles have found great homes.
