Quickly Jump Start Another Car

If you find yourself needing to jump start another car, you only need a set of jumper cables and a working car. The most likely reason a car would need to be jump started is because its battery has died. That's where your working car comes in.

Make sure that the red jumper cables are hooked up to the positive terminal ends. The black ones are for the negative ends. Once everything is hooked up, turn your car's engine on. Leave it running and hooked up to the dead car for about five minutes to ensure that it gets a sufficient charge. Be sure that the other car stays running for at least 20 minutes before the engine is shut off again. If you turn it off too early, you might have trouble getting it started again.
