Hydroplaning is a condition that occurs when the tires on your vehicle are unable to scatter rain off the road surface fast enough, resulting in difficultly steering or controlling your vehicle.

The one thing you can do while driving in the rain to reduce the chances of losing control of the vehicle is to simply slow down. Not only should you allow more distance between you and the vehicle ahead, but you should be taking turns slower to eliminate any chance of sliding.

The vehicle ahead is going to leave tracks on the road surface you can use to your advantage. Simply driving in those tracks will result in your tires having to scatter less water.

One thing you can do today to help with your driving on wet roads is bring your vehicle to Wagner Kia of Shrewsbury and allow our technicians to analyze the condition of the tread on those tires too.
